For information how to deal with tactics of bullies check out William Ury who wrote the Power of Positive No and other books. Another person, Helga Rhode has information about dealing with bullies in her Assertiveness Training tapes on Career Track.

i found this very very useful and enlighten and i have a manager that could use this idea as many of the staff have expressed concern about her ways of dealing with people. I will like an idea how i can introduce this to her. I have only just join the team as a deputy manager and does not want her to thing am trying to step on her toes. Am aiming to make the environment at work a warm friendly effective team environment.

Thanks for the kind words about my PBS Special - Your goal is a good one, and, having a manager change the way she deals with people is a pretty tall order. However, if you want to try, I would recommend letting her know that you have found an interesting video on getting people to listen to you and ask her if she would be interested in the URL? Of course, the other option is to bring me in to do a presentation on “Getting Other’s To Get It!”
