You will find if they are good with secrets and someone who you can rely to help you with your work-related problems, however, you should never talk about your personal life too much at work. Small talk is fine, but when you start bringing up the problems, you will begin to find some trust issues and also other problems. It's good to make friends at work, but you should also think about what kind of friend they can be. You don't want to misplace your trust, and that is something that happens a lot. As for your manager, you may feel like you can trust them, but it's inappropriate for a manager to know about your personal life. The only things that they need to know are the things that affect you at work.
If you learn how to stand up to your boss and to tell them in a positive light that you would like to be left alone and will seek them when trouble arises, you may be able to enjoy your work life. You should try to make an effort to cope with a nosy manager by respecting them and by showing how important you are to the company. You will find that when you approach anything with respect, that you'll be able to resolve any issues.
