We have to think about the future, the next generation and generation after that.

Banks used extreme leverage without understanding it

There are a lot of people that have lost all their savings who are going to be faced with a terrible problem of feeding their families and dealing with the problems of day to day living. I think that is where the problem is going to be the greatest.

Global Financial Overhaul

If your very safety conscious you hang on to your gold bars.

Around the world each country has it’s own problems. There are those countries that have been hit with inflation and they have to control it. There are those countries which have a problem with the work force. You have got to look at each one.

In the UK unfortunately at the moment we are getting more people out of work. Unemployment is increasing. We are going to have to find ways to help those that are less well off. We have the housing problem like yourself. Obviously we are a smaller economy. It’s going to be very difficult to get people to reinvest. Because money is going to be short.

What we have had to the last 10-15 years is unlimited attitude. We can make money. We can do anything we like. We just have tons of time to do what we want without regarding the regulation or regarding the basics of how you run your business.

Evil, good to have you on the program. Thanks so much.

If you had a name that was unusual and difficult for some people to pronounce?

Posted By: admin  //  Category: difficult people

Would you go by a shortened version of that name? I have a name that some people find difficult to pronounce, but that many say is very pretty. I’m getting tired of having to correct people all the time, but at the same time I feel weird shortening it. My name is Sureka, pronounced (Soo-ree-kah). I could shorten it to just Sue. What do you think?

Eh, Sue? No, keep your name as it is. Your name is unique, it’s my first time hearing it. Just correct people; make them learn something new for the day. 1

Small and Simple Souls - Part II

Posted By: admin  //  Category: difficult people

“History hinges upon seemingly small and simple souls.” - Seth Adam Smith

In my quiet reflections, I have come to realize that the whole of history has truly hinged upon the shoulders of the small and simple. Everyone has a story. Everyone. It seems to me that the people who have accomplished the greatest good in this world are those that have done it by overcoming TREMENDOUS odds.

Think about it. When was the last time you looked up to someone who had it easy? What encouraging stories have you told to others that did not feature someone having to face something difficult? I truly believe that small and simple people are made mighty and strong people when faced with opposition.

Yes, there is evil out there…but pain and heartache are secret blessings. Everything that is given to us in life is either a blessing or a curse. It is the strength of one’s heart that determines which. The men and women featured in this video are those that have taken the difficult circumstances given to them and have made them (and themselves) into something more.

I hope that you enjoy the second part to “Small and Simple Souls.”

There was also something mentioned in the New York Times that it was actually $8.8 trillion dollars in spending, but had later changed the amount on their offical site because of the outrage. There is swarms of these blogs everywhere linking to the image onto the New York Times showing the huge chart of the spending, but was later changed:

http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org/archives/2009/02/350_billion_not_25_trillion.php

I’m looking more into it and it seems really real to me. I’m trying to find the original chart and it might be very difficult to find it.

“The New York Times (as well as Bloomberg) estimates that the US government has committed $8.8 trillion (some 68% of the US GDP) and has already spent some $2 trillion on the problem. Yet economists like James Gailbraith and Nouriel Roubini claim that much more is needed. Our question to Mssrs Gailbraith and Roubini is, before you insist that more government money is needed, come up with a suggestion as to how in the world the US will be able to pay for this.”

“# 2/04/09: The New York Times updated its bailout figures on 2/4/2009; see their helpful graphic of the funds

# 2/20/09: Ethisphere has created a TARP Index Fund to monitor how the TARP investment is performing. So far it has lost over 50% of its value since the 9/1/08 investment.

# 2/24/09: The latest bailout figures come from Bloomberg reporter Bob Ivry”

“Feb. 24 (Bloomberg) — The following table details how the U.S. government has pledged more than $11.6 trillion on behalf of American taxpayers over the past 19 months, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Changes from the previous table, published Feb. 9, include a $787 billion economic stimulus package. The Federal Reserve has new lending commitments totaling $1.8 trillion. It expanded the Term et-Backed Lending Facility, or TALF, by $800 billion to $1 trillion and announced a $1 trillion Public-Private Investment Fund to buy troubled ets from banks.”

So, the spending could get in between $8.8 trillion to as much as $20 trillion.
